I can’t see any way that this wouldn’t be a significantly compromised experience. They’d need to make new sports specifically for vertical screens, that would be better served from more vertical space than horizontal space. Every sport I can think of is better with more horizontal space, as the players are on a horizontal plane.

There is a reason the first thing they seemed to get popular on TikTok is people dancing alone in their room. The second more people enter the picture, a wider image is better.

Apple just added a square sensor to their front facing camera, to take horizontal selfies without having to turn the phone, instead of vertical ones, for this exact reason.
