Not if you believe websites and applications should be two different things.


The users will switch from website to app if they feel the website is inferior, no matter what you believe.


They should have been using the application in the first place. There should be no need to “switch”. That we should even speak of the inferiority of a website in comparison to an application, is a sign that we have gone seriously wrong. The website will do what it is supposed to do and the application will likewise fulfil its duty, it is not “inferior” any more than a lawn-mower is inferior to a wardrobe.

Or you shouldn't have opposed the funding of the development of advanced web browser features which make switching to the app superfluous.
