However when I tried connecting to supabase it broke down.
Maybe I'm missing something but "it" wants me to add environemnt varables to the .env file. I connected it to a git repo, but I don't want to add commit that there.
Yeah you shouldn't have to add stuff to the .env file. If you setup Supabase any secrets should be added to the edge functions as env vars.
