Too little, too late. Facebook did the government's bidding - right or wrong - and now they're trying to walk it back. I wonder if they're trying to get ahead of something, because why this and why now?
It's because they want to have 0 responsibility for what is posted on their platform. Any past action on their part to counter the spread of misinformation establishes precidant they do not want.
Also, outrageous, conspiracy-oriented, and rage-bait content has much higher engagement anyway, which is why their algorithm has historically encouraged it so heavily. Explicit misinformation falls into those categories and has been good for their bottom line and getting everyone's parents addicted to the platform
Mark Zuckerberg attempted to sue native Hawaiians to force them into selling him their land near his compound and bunker under a shell company. He dropped the lawsuits after getting exposed with media coverage, and it is suspected he silently funded a native to buy the land for him. Truly villainous stuff. Never forget.
I find it really interesting looking at what makes someone "cool" here. I seem to see no end of people online promoting or defending Musk, and the most common argument I see is "he's rich, so obviously smarter than you", "he's rich, you're jealous", "he generates more jobs than most businesses and thus is one of the most important people ever" etc etc. I've never seen anyone ever claim "Zuckerberg is rich, therefore, anything good at all", quite the contrary.
There’s not really as much article there as I was hoping. It’s not even clear what context he’s referring to, if this was from 2020, or because of the more recent suit involving RFK, or the 2024 election in general
It's also about the 2020 election relating to the Hunter Biden materials, though doesn't allege any pressure from officials on that point.
Which, makes sense, given Trump was president. Zuckerberg does say prior general warnings about Russian disinformation caused Meta to initially demote it for a period, since it made them skeptical of it. But those warnings weren't related to a specific incident, like the laptop/hard drives/iCloud accounts of Hunter Biden.
Thanks. Confusing they have two stories in the same space published at much the same time. I wonder why archive.is said my one when I asked for it by original URL of yours?
OK, but what about the DC office that was built in ~2011 and was specifically touted as "..to better interface with the government..." -- the NSA Security guys revolving door? And the ex SS guys? and the ex navy intel head of security guy that was walked out of the building for sexual misconduct?
Remember all these aspects of ~~LifeLog~~ HandlerDNA visible under the UV Light of PayingAttention?
I mean, we arent getting out of the AI Surveillance state, period - so we may as well be honest about what we are all dealing with here.
