Apple confirms bug that is keeping some iPhone alarms from sounding (arstechnica.com)

Just knowing how many people in the planet rely on their alarms for so many things it's definitely the case that at least innocent 1 person has been fired because of this bug preventing an alarm from waking them up for work (probably hundreds or more)

Especially young people with strict policies around hours, an alarm not functioning as expected can literally be the difference between living paycheck to paycheck and losing their income entirely.

Thanks for thinking of the little guy.

Maybe they should't spend a month worth of income on an iPhone then. /s

I haven’t tested this in a while, but as at least until a couple of years ago, an incoming phone call would permanently dismiss an alarm on iOS.

If you have face id and attention awareness enabled, the alarm will be silenced but still technically be going off if the phone thinks you looked at it.

Not sure if it's related to this TFA bug, but it's aggravating, to put it nicely.

Still does. Alarm can also interrupt and crash Spotify. Alarm can also temporarily lock iPhone.

I just accepted it. Sad that’s just how things are nowadays.

wow that's crazy. feel like my biggest problem still is updating automatically overnight

I’ve got the opposite problem where my alarm goes off every Wednesday at 8:30 and I have no idea how to turn it off…

The state of modern tech... a company with a market cap of 2.67 trillion cannot make a working alarm clock.
