I also wonder how much is research staff vs. ops personnel. For AI research, I can't imagine they would need 20, maybe 40 ppl. For ops to keep up ChatGPT as a service, that would be 700.

If they want to go full bell labs/deep mind style, they might not need the majority of those 700.
