Living somewhere were streaming usually winds up being low resolution or full of frustrating pauses for re-buffering, I do appreciate physical media (except where it is region locked: aaargh! How is it possible to buy something that you can't actually play?)
It depresses me, however, how much space it takes up, and how much plastic it is.
When we lose physical media, with the DRM and "you don't own it" mentality, we are largely at the mercy of the corporations. In that regard, I do highly respect pirate archivist sites for preserving access to these works. You'd never be able to see the original Star Wars without Lucas' senile CGI grafitti without them.
