After reviewing the proud new features, they're all the opposite of what I want.

Generally, I don't want things that make driving harder for me or other drivers. I want headlights that don't blind everyone else and external indicators that inform without distracting or demanding attention of others. I really want fewer distractions inside the cabin.

I will praise the Miata for not having over-high headlights that nuke-flash the driver in front of me. I sincerely appreciate that.

I read the article, but still don't know what LSD stands for. Driving a Miata is definitely a trip (I only did so once), but surely they're not including psychedelic drugs with that model?
