FWIW & AIUI the German policy isn't actually to revert to coal, but rather to keep coal plants in the strategic reserve. That reserve is plants that are kept ready to use, with fuel, staffing, maintenance and testing, but not planned to be used.

Makes sense to me.


The Dutch aren’t reverting back to coal either; the existing coal plants—planned to be phased out—are being used more to deal with energy supply shortages.

And then Germany goes ranting about how Nuclear isn't climate friendly.


The Dutch have been burning Europe's forests in their incinerators for the last decade, being responsible for the deforestation across the continent.
