Haha, many many years ago I had a 486 motherboard, and through lots of sailing I was able to save to afford

8mb simms. I plugged them in and it reporter... 12Mb

I had a 5Mb 386 system for a while. Often, a program requiring 8Mb of RAM would work, just poorly on more than 4.
