I disagree that it isn't suitable though. I was a beginner and launched sobel or similar filters at it for testing purposes. Any image would do, you don't need to search for "imaging test image" or something like that of course.
I feel this issue is a bit performative outrage by those diagnosing a problem and I heavily dislike the argument about not knowing parameters like lighting, color or focal length. That lack of knowledge is precisely what computer vision tries to solve.
The model doesn't want it to be used anymore because people told her it would discourage women from doing imaging work. On its own that is a bit insulting.
