Most people at our company just have their camera on for the start of the meeting and then drop off as the meeting progresses. As long as you cam up for the first 3-5 minutes, no one really cares.
Yes it's an advantage if other team members feel inspired by seeing you on camera.
But if you don't like it, you have to decide if it's worth the discomfort to get that advantage.
The way it works is... You make a decision like that, people will ask you why. You explain it by saying you don't want to be on camera a few times. After a while it becomes normal and nobody ever asks again. It's very simple.
