My Dad told me rear-engine planes were popular because they were quieter for most of the passengers in the cabin, except for those near the back. But that was the 80s. The post doesn't talk about that. Maybe engines are generally quieter now so this is a non-issue?


Or maybe airlines just plain don't care about passenger experience in any other way today, so why would they care about this?


The number one passenger experience is cost.


Is this why they put first-class in the front, even though they're exposed to all the poor people walking past them?
