Don't be lazy about staying relevant. You shouldn't jump on every new trend, but you should be knowledgeable enough to discuss it intelligently. This requires some investment, even if it's just taking a Saturday to go through a quick course on Udemy or the like.


Yes. New Stuff doesn't always supplant Old Stuff. And when it does, it does so at different rates. There will always be work available to bridge/replace Old to New. Heck, look at mainframes.
