Not at all, they use C dialects like MISRA-C, Frama-C, ACC3 among others, that are basically Ada with C syntax. Additionally they use coding practices that would make the most hyped TDD advocates from Silicon Valley startups walk away from the projects without looking twice about what they were leaving behind. When code kills, every line of code gets validated.

Yes but C being C, its hard to write it safely, and harder to ensure that it is safe beyond all doubt.
