People that feel rejected by society lash out at society. The overt spam and Nazism is pretty clearly lashing out.

I guess he lashed out at the wrong folks, because murders are very rare in Squamish. It looks like he was hiding from someone and they found him.

Personally, I would have hidden further from a metro area. Vancouver is very close.
