I mean Intel stopped making DRAM because they were soundly outcompeted. We lost the DRAM industry before we actually stopped making DRAM.
Disks afaik are still made in the US, although not only in the US.

Who's still making them in the US? I know Seagate and Western Digital's factories are in Thailand and China.

My mistake- Seagate's Minnesota factory doesn't do platters.
