And yet, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Or, in other words (although this is an exaggeration) pulling a Linus to get your point across is counterproductive. The hostility radiating from article will turn off a lot of people who otherwise might benefit from considering it.



Actually no. The title got my attention, and reading through rid me of any illusions I was harbouring about encrypted emails. (Granted, there weren't many left, but anyway.) A title like "Encrypted messaging apps like Signal preferred over PGP" what have been glossed over. At some point you have to tell technologists that their bad advice to people who really need the technology could get the latter killed/imprisoned/tortured.
