I'll often just forget my phone in my home office, sometimes for an entire weekend. I've had people ask me if I was unhappy with them because they called and I didn't get back with them immediately.

I know it makes me an old fucker, but I'm genuinely sad when I go someplace where we have to wait and it's just a sea of people on their phone with little to no interaction amongst themselves.

Tell me about it. I'm trying to reduce the amount of time I spend on the thing (I turn off as many notification as possible, put timesucking apps out of easy reach, etc) but it still consumes much more time than I'd like. I despair when I see a crowd of people silently exercising their scrolling thumbs in complete ignorance of each other.
