In University I tried to transition into molecular neuroscience. It was very frustrating how slow porgress is and how little a single individual can impact it. Biology feels like a huge spaghetti code project with millions upon millions of lines and much of it interconnected.

Basically biology feels like a working but horribly written program with secret gotchas everywhere.

I left and went back to coding and mathematics. So easy to make progress. I can pretty much understand the whole system. Everyday I get something real done.
