Senescent cells can be cannibalized by others. One method involves a feedback system in NRF2 via the modulation of p62. NRF2 activates the expression of many autophagy genes, such as Atg3, Atg5, Atg7 and SQSTM1 during cellular stress response. One component I have been self experimenting with to induce the up-regulation of NRF2 is Sulforaphane. Thus far I have removed cells in my body that were causing eczema.
