It has the additional benefit of being the most privacy-preserving system, since individuals are no longer required to file tax returns or be means-tested for benefits. Everyone receives the same benefits, and the taxes are collected indirectly via the corporations whose goods and services are bought by (potentially anonymous) individuals. Meanwhile, the accounts of corporations are subject to greater scrutiny, as governments focus their efforts on auditing them.
