I - and everyone I know - would not even remotely consider allowing my self-driving car to be rented out to other people while I’m not using it, let alone deliver meals or similar.
Here are some of the many perks of having a car, currently:
1) It’s there when I need it.
2) I can leave my stuff in it if I want to.
3) I don’t have to share it with anyone else.
4) There is no dirt, mess, bad smells, damage, or other discomfort that I myself am not responsible for.
One of the main advantages of owning my own car is that I can then exclude other people from using it.
Now either I and everyone I know across hemispheres, continents, and cultures are weird exceptions to the vast majority of humanity (possible), or Bay-Area-Dwelling commenters on Hacker News are outliers in the way they feel about transport.
