I opened it again after many years and frankly i'm seeing better content than i find on other social media platforms.
For example, instagram is clearly trying to understand what political side i lean on and pushes me that kind of content. I have to be very careful what kind of stuff i like otherwise my feed gets very polluted with political content rather than with interesting tech stuff and cats videos.
On the other hand, X/Twitter is routinely serving me better and more interesting technical content.
Most studies on diets are usually skewed because part of the results do not directly come to the specific diet (no matter if it's the vegan, carnivore, atkins, dukan, paleo or whatever) but from study participants "suddenly" following a well-defined eating regime (with a well defined upper bound on caloric intake).
Essentially, if you go from eating shit at whatever time of the day to following a well-specified eating regime... of course you'll get benefits.
It is concerned, but not in the way one would think.
From what i hear politicians like Gavin Newsom from California are passing bills to prevent independent journalists like Nick Shirley from exposing fraud and corruption.
That signals that they (government officials) are extremely concerned with what the public thinks, but mainly in the sense that they don’t want the public to have the information that would put them in a thought spot.
On the other hand, the fact that fraud and corruption is only reported by some early-twenty-something independent youtuber/journalist should really tell you a lot on the state of mass media in the USA (in the sense that the mass media are essentially colluding with politicians).
Yeah i have a similar experience. I’m essentially a sysadmin and i don’t do much programming and i always kept myself as far as possible from frontend development.
And yet now with AI (chatgpt codex in my case) i can make useful little apps without ever looking at what kind of html/javascript gets generated.
I’ll be honest: my agents.md explicitly states to use vanilla javascript and plain bootstrap for frontend, in case i might have to look at it in the future, but so far i’ve never had that need.
Sounds like a responsible company that won't sell you capacity that's not there.
