A tumbledry.org article on doing infinite scroll better was posted to HN about a year ago (http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2592741) and it was most the way towards doing infinite scroll right.
No, I'm pretty sure he's referring to the "theme" component of jQuery Mobile (http://jquerymobile.com/themeroller/) which isn't "taken care of" with this combo. That said, since it's just markup and CSS it shouldn't be too difficult to roll in.
(And by long-form, I assume you are talking about an article or something rather than a book.) If you aren't concerned with people actually reading your text then yes, thats probably a good idea. But prefacing in this manner generally tends to disuade meaningful consumption, "why read in 4 pages what was summed up in 4 sentences", a reader might think. I think prefacing could arguably contribute to effective communication, but it stifles engagement significantly.
It's a <insert whatever YOU find ofensive> for fuck's sake, so get over it.
The amount of moralizing over what people are "allowed" to find offensive here is amazing. If it were my network, I wouldn't give a rat's ass what MG was doing in his picture, but it isn't my network.
No kidding. This however has a lot more potential thanks to support for multiple sources. That said, I can see Facebook adding support to Timeline for content aggregation using other online services.
