I think - at least for the people who stick with a career in PR - that they enjoy playing the game of giving an answer that is sort of related to the question but doesn't actually give a single bit of useful information. That they enjoy seeing how far they can push it without the interviewer straight up accuse them of not answering the question.

At least that's the only way I can imagine them keeping their sanity.

The fork by Catfriend01 available through F-Droid works great...for now. I too use it heavily and worry about it's future on android.

Is that really a concern for most people? Trying to keep hostnames secret is a losing battle anyways these days.

You should probably be using a trusted TLS certificate for your git hosting. And that means the host name will end up in certificate transparency logs which are even easier to scrape than DNS queries.

You would probably use wildcard certificates to NOT leak those subdomains

I think there's two separate incidents you might be getting mixed up.

Popcorn lung was a concern with diacetyl - butter flavoring - which causes popcorn lung in large quantities, like the factories where they make microwave popcorn. Not sure if it was just concern about it or actual confirmed cases, but it was removed from all ecigarettes a long time ago.

The actual cases of hospitalization with respiratory issues were from cutting THC vapes with vitamin E oil to make them appear thicker and higher quality. It was already well known that inhaling vitamin E oil vapor is incredibly bad for you, but the makers of those illicit vapes either didn't know or didn't care.
