In response to physical damage or even starvation, they take a leap back in their development process, transforming back into a polyp. In a process that looks remarkably like immortality, the born-again polyp colony eventually buds and releases medusae that are genetically identical to the injured adult. In fact, since this phenomenon was first observed in the 1990s, the species has come to be called “the immortal jellyfish.”

Yes, like many plants and fungi, jellyfish exhibit “alternation of generations” with both an asexual and a sexual reproduction stage. Since the forms are usually far different in size, one biologist remarked it’s as if a woman gives birth to a mouse and then a mouse to a woman.

This is so beautiful work ! Loved it !

Coding is just part of job, just like designing, testing, collaborating with others, writing documents is.

Do you feel work you are doing is intellectually challenging ?

Did you zoom out and asked yourself what do you feel passionate about? now that you have been writing code for quite a while.

We can only control our actions and reactions, we don’t have much control over the outcomes of those ..

So taking away the burden of specific outcomes and just keep doing whatever may be our actions as matter of duty is way to free up ourselves from stress and anxiety that comes when outcomes don’t meet our expectations..

It’s perfectly alright to expect the things to turn out in certain ways but it’s another thing to be attached to expectations of those outcomes ..

We are tiny creatures in grand scheme of world around us… accepting it and finding something to be grateful for in our everyday life is way to go IMO..

New partners will be found, new relationships will be developed, things can be studied/ researched for whole life .. what matters most in this moment to be able to acknowledge that we have very little control over things around us and being grateful for whatever we have in our life..

I found Bhagavad Gita to be very empowering.. May be you will as well ..

Good luck !

Thanks for the reminder. This is one of the things I "know" but have not fully internalised yet I think.

43 is young.. on professional side, you can learn new skills / brush up existing skills if they are still relevant (if you are in tech).. you can move to new city / country where there might be more job opportunities.. also change of place will bring fresh perspectives.

On personal side, you need therapist to talk to.. if that’s not possible, friend with whom you can share your heart would be good..

Also if you can, consider reading https://vedabase.io/en/library/bg/ to get fresh perspectives on life and its struggles..

On health side, regular exercise, any kind of sports and staying away from alcohol or any intoxication would be helpful to make you feel better. Try to go to sleep early and wake up early.. do bit of yoga & morning walk might help you tremendously..

I am looking for help with financial analysis of capital intensive businesses both at startups and matured state.

Would love to exchange ideas.

I would highly recommend reading Bhagavat Gita(and other Vedic scriptures), it’s available freely with translation to many different languages here at [1].

+ Good name

+ Good package design especially color palette

+ Good website

- Expensive for packaged food

- Nothing that stood out (from comments) as strong differentiator from competitors (that they can not do)

- Unclear target market, this is what I gathered from comments, people

    * Who don't have access to Indian restaurants

    * Who don't have time or know how to cook Indian food at home

    * Who don't have access to competitors products

** Hard to make case here as all major retailers sell one or other Indian food packages, and for everyone else there is Amazon Prime

    * Who have access to restaurants, have time or know how to cook but would instead prefer to spend about same amount of money on packaged food as they would by ordering it with food delivery services.

I might be completely wrong but IMO this is commodity business, unless you are building robots which can cook millions of packages of custom made Indian food for everyone.

It’s surprising to see how companies pay hundreds of thousands of dollars salary per annum to the employees but fail to provide work environment which enables them to maximize their productivity.

I'm sure somebody would say that's precisely because they pay people so much, that they are constantly out to reduce costs elsewhere.

In reality, managers are simply on the constant lookout to squeeze costs down, and worker salaries escape the cut only in some job markets because of very specific circumstances (like a period of history when the need to build software severely outstrips overall production capacity). There is no real master plan to maximize productivity.

Their performance numbers are sketchy as all hell, so even if they had some way of comparing performance with and without constant noise, would they be able to glean reliable information from it?

So it's close to perfect information on rent vs. some vague and unquantifiable "I can't focus" complaints regarding the noise in a work environment.

Thank you all!
