You're right, increasing engagement is a goal here. Regarding your feedback, under the Wish List button is the location, map, and 'Book it' link. All three take you to the listing. Keep the feedback coming.
Something pegs my CPU when I browse the site on Windows in IE, but not on OSX. I have silverlight and flash on the windows browser but not on osx, so that's what I assumed it was (based on someone else having mentioned silverlight); I guess it's something else.
BTW, there is some other funkiness in the UI, too. If I choose a city and some amenities and some neighborhoods and then add on 'social connections', it says that my search is too specific. But I notice that after I do this, my neighborhood selection is no longer there. Amusingly, this means that if I uncheck 'social connections' and check it again it will be able to show me something since my search is no longer too specific.
Does anyone realize the size of the NYC crowd was larger than Startup School - which takes places in the heart of Silicon Valley? Last night was standing room only. I left thinking the NYC scene was thirsty for an event such as YCNYC. If you left complaining, I think you showed up with the wrong frame of mind. I met some fantastic people, and really enjoyed presenting. Props to PG and Co. for bringing a community together.
