What the heck is this t-shirt talking about?

Let him be interested in what he's interested in.

Or maybe I didn't know that this had been posted before. A colleague sent me a link to it today, I thought it might be interesting to this group, and I posted it. Feel free to mod it down all you like. Having high karma on Hacker News is not a high priority in my life.

Play more hockey.

That's like saying, "the market is always right; if it seems like it sometimes isn't, trust me, it is."

You're simultaneously misrepresenting jeb's statement and the efficient market hypothesis[1].

It's more like saying "markets aren't always right, but they're useful, otherwise they wouldn't exist".

The efficient market hypothesis says "the market may be wrong sometimes, but you can't consistently tell when".

To tell you the truth, I'd feel like a nut case saying something like "You are my favorite company. It's my dream to work for you. If you have any aspect that could use a little help, let me do it, and I promise you it'll thrive. I'm that passionate about this."

"impact" is also not a verb. I'm sure Nero Wolfe would agree with me on that, if he were here today.

Actually, impact has been a verb for a very long time... though generally referring to wisdom teeth or, uh, feces.

Watson's bedroom was presumably on the floor above the pictured floor. (They also don't show Mrs. Hudson's bedroom.) Watson moved out pretty early in the series after marrying Mary Morstan.

I can't see (let alone observe) whether they got the seventeen steps right or not.

So, he's basically saying that the net worth of the U.S. is negative, which, of course, is a very bad thing. Which means it's impossible to pay it off right at this moment, of course. I'm not sure why that implies it can never be paid off, though. Not that that makes the situation much better, though.
