You rather open the server up to security issues than have software where the developer has been assisted by ai which you feel decreases the quality of the code or is it for moral reasons?
Rsync is not being vibe coded, and it’s not become slop so would love to understand the position.
its not an article, its a github issue. There is no proof, someone posted a screenshot of another person on twitter complaining about a vague bug they experienced. It's certainly not clear the maintainer used an llm in the way described (how would you know unless they told you?). Its not even clear what issues there are specifically, or whether they were caused by ai usage.
Reminds of the days when windows and macs folks were debating each other, made it impossible to announce Mac software on a software forum with windows users.
The significant thing that will result from this is private issue lists and disabling open PRs. and then you’re worse off as an ai sceptic.
People just have disliked computing in general as a result of their Windows experience.
I’m not seeing any brick and mortar stores selling Linux laptops or any mindshare for any Linux brand. Maybe if Ubuntu started selling hardware in supermarkets Linux would have a chance of capturing people’s consciousness outside of the power user / professional circles. But they’re years too late now.
