I just made the connection to why they had a scene like that in a Korean show on Netflix, cool

I think it's this one: Rookie Historian Goo Hae-Ryung. It's on Netflix, the Korean series about a Joseon-era scribe for the royal house.

That’s a good one btw

Loved SimCity growing up.

Would it be possible to automate porting the windows version into a mac or web version? Like giving a long-running agent the task and some tools to check/play the game on both platforms?

SimCity 4 has a native Mac build, it's on Steam. Most of the modding community uses Windows now though since the .dll hacks became feasible.

SimCity 4 not only has a native Mac build, but it has an applesilicon one (I believe you have to enable a beta flag somewhere).

Pretty impressive for a game released in 2003.

Oh my goodness SC4 is 23 years old. I'll go be old in the corner.

At this point you can probably just run it with proton or wine. Why bother porting the whole thing?

For fun and customization. This guy used Claude to decompile and recreate an old mac game: https://www.tiktok.com/@philsmy/video/7644482888544636180

Can confirm it runs on Debian with Wine just fine.

I wonder if via-skill could become a software distribution channel. A bit like what has happened with LLM wiki

Agreed. This is truly remarkable and it raises a lot of questions about the future of labor and the place for robots/ai in society

The Animatrix series paints an interesting, if catastrophic, picture of how things could develop

The website auto-reloads a couple of times and then crashes, on mobile Safari (iOS 18.7)

I’ve gotten some really good prints with a Qidi Q1 Pro. Have read good reviews about some of the other/newer versions by the same brand as well. They are very cheap for the features they have, and excellent quality

I have a Plus 4. It's usable but takes a lot of work to become decent, and needs a lot of maintenance.

Is it older than March 2025?

The first year was rough, from what I've read. Mine arrived March 2025, it has taken no work to print excellently, and at about 700 hours I have lubricated it every 200 hours, and I just tightened the belts about 50 hours ago. That's it. If it's less than $100 a roll I've probably printed it. I have no complaints.

I bought it in June 2025.

From what I've gathered across Discord servers (QIDI official, QIDI unifficial and Team 7 mostly), there is a decent percentage of machines that more or less just work, as has been your experience. For the less lucky ones, it's a lifetime of tinkering. I'm on the latter cohort, unfortunately.

Not to mention that out of the box you need to lock the printer in a cabinet as its printing. It used to give me headaches to be close to it for more than a couple minutes.

It is a great book. I disagree though that all modern books on this are derivatives. I haven’t read many, but The Charisma Myth is a great book on human interactions, that I believe is very novel in its content and approach

Maybe a lot of the books do cover some of the same content, but that’s probably because human nature hasn’t changed much since the 30s, when Carnegie published his book

That book is very good. However, for some (including me at some point), it can be a bit advanced

I highly recommend the book The Charisma Myth, it covers a lot of the same topics, including very good exercises, to help understand and develop human interactions in general

Personally, it helped me be able to get into, the situations that the first book assumes the reader is already in, or comfortable with (like talking to strangers)

A couple of days ago, using codex at work, all of a sudden it said my session had been flagged for security reasons. I wasn’t doing anything cybersecurity related, nor testing any vulnerabilities or anything like that, just trying to build a pretty simple web app

It seems really dumb for the models to not due security related things. What if I want it to do a security audit of my own software that I'm building?

codex will actually help you look but it will refuse to actually try and exploit it.

it won't for example create a POC python script that you normally would use to prove the issue.
