or monitoring that you cannot turn off

Clang was an Apple project from the start.. I'm not sure what is telling you it is a Google project

Clangd != clang.

Woolvalley said “and now recently clangd“, which is a source code completion server which began its life at Google.

Clang did start its life with Apple.

In case a citation is needed: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clang

> Apple chose to develop a new compiler front end from scratch, supporting C, Objective-C and C++. This "clang" project was open-sourced in July 2007.

I believe the "d" in the GP comment was not a typo https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=16874734

Seems like a bad idea for kids of any age to be taught they don't need passcodes or that they are an annoyance.

I wonder how long face recognition technology would function with children? I was under the impression that each accepted scan updates the mask so shouldn't it be able to keep up with changes to a child's face as they age? let alone serve multiple children so each has their own setup?

education wise tablets need to recognize different users so as to allow device sharing and keep this budget friendly to schools

Speaking specifically about Face ID, Apples marketing has suggested that changes over time would influence the model but I do not believe it is there yet—-I have seen enough issues in my own usage and the only meaningful difference there is my glasses.

And you’re very much right about the multiuser requirement. Apple should have been moving in that direction years ago but unfortunately we only have a bunch of “family sharing” hacks at the moment.

> let alone serve multiple children so each has their own setup?

They have this now, but oddly don’t make it available to parents, just schools. Watch the keynote video from a few weeks ago for reference.

I'm not sure what the problem is here. Your comment is a bit misleading since neither of those first two are expecting a callback. Both keys and values just return arrays so its not that out of place for entries to also return an array.

I use the a late 2016 MacBook Pro and had similar issues (even had the keyboard replaced with a 2017 keyboard and it's great now) but overall I'm still happy as the crashing seems to be entirely related to the external monitor usage and that's no longer something I do. FWIW if you have the laptop open when you connect and disconnect the external monitor(s) it doesn't seem to crash in my experience.

That said, some of the people at our office love some of the latest Lenovo ThinkPad models and are running Linux.

I have a 2016 MPB had the same issue with the external monitor when I was using a 3rd party dongle (which was half the price of Apple's dongles). I have now bought Apple's dongle and no issues with the monitor.

For Mac/iOS users, I love 1Blocker. Works great with Safari.

They aren't accused of hacking. They are being accused of manipulating the baby-boomer generation and anyone else that can't distinguish and ad from regular content on the internet.

You're referring to the Russian twitter trolls? Seriously? This is what all the fuss is about? FUD spreading on the internet?

Pretty funny how closely they styled this after the AWS landing page:

*Like Google added in Android 6 but Apple had for years.

I think there are cases you can work yourself into a tough spot.. but even there.. if you receive significant funding full rewrites are possible and often done. However, if the thing that doesn't scale is directly related to your business model you may be in trouble..

This pertains to my business particularly, what if customer onboarding process takes a lot of effort for a Saas?
