Did you mean list<a> -> b? To my mind a transducer is a tranform + reducer

No I meant `a -> List<b>`. This is because a list is itself a fold (which is a reducer with an additional base case).

This Carmack guy knows his stuff.

Ive always found the silversearcher defaults (or perhaps -Q) to just work better. Any alias/config tips?

ripgrep's -Q is just -F, like grep. This is not enabled by default in either tool.

Otherwise, ag enables multiline search (assuming you have a version of ag where that even works) and smart case by default. With ripgrep, that's ` rg -US`.

This is really old now (I think 2000s) but even the jacks they lift the car with doesn’t drop with gravity alone - that’s too slow. They have some mechanism that actively drops the jack, so they can pull it away faster.

Recently they’ve done some shenanigans with extension support. it seems to me like a change only for the worse?

IMO it’s really hard to argue with the quality valve software is putting out. I can’t really name a game that isn’t considered a must play that they’ve made

I too thought Ricochet was a blast and an underrated must play. There are dozens of us!

Artifact flopped really hard.

Dota Underlords wasn't exactly a success either.

It's only hard to argue because that's a purely subjective opinion.

Qwen have their own competitor to Claude Code.

I actually liked windows 7 quite a bit

Certainly better than where we are now but I never really loved it. It was to heavy for me, the search doesn't find files that are there reliably and the update system system sucked. Windows 7 always developed disk sucking WinSxS folder cancer, a particularly fatal disease during the early SSD era where space became a premium again.

It did have faster file copying though. I'd say it had 64-bit for more memory addressing but that was actually available with XP as well.

He said he was very dedicated, but turned out he wasn’t (surprise). What else could he be lying about? Surely not his work ethic

You could also consider getting into pre/post conditions and specs - helps a lot especially at points with user/data input
