The swarm of locals butchering the elephant carcass while wearing GoDaddy hats is by far the most disturbing part of the episode.

Maybe they cut the scene where the other village were wearing Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl XLV Champions t-shirts. A tacky hat still blocks the sun better than no hat.

Or the civil war that he incited between the GoDaddy hats and the non-GoDaddy hats.

MailChimp launched in 2001. It is a little late in the game to call them a start-up.

Steve Martin is a class act.

This is all I need. This lamp and this remote control and this paddle-ball game. Oh - and this.

It would have been epic if he had walked off stage with that routine...

Hilarious. Is this real?

I can't find a source at the moment, but I remember reading more about this a few years back. IIRC it was made as a joke for an internal company conference, or something along those lines.

It looks like it. Some other windows commercials: http://www.techradar.com/news/software/operating-systems/the...

Egads! Tucker Max and Tim Ferris at the same time!? My Huckster Detector 5000 readings are off the charts!

Groupon CEO re: their cut: “If we were economically rational, we would take even more.”

I immediately thought of this quote too. I see this as sort of a honeymoon for Groupon while people figure out how it really benefits (or doesn't benefit) their business. Over time their margins will probably drop considerably, so why shouldn't they take what they can get now? I can see how this sucks for small businesses who get flattened by the runaway train, but is it Groupon's responsibility to sabotage their own business model by performing due dilligence for their customers? From what little I know everything seems clearly above board.

And by virtue of 42 comments and counting, 37signals wins again...

You're clueless. That's OK - all high school seniors are.

Go to college. You'll have fun. You'll grow up. You'll make friends that you'll have forever. You'll learn more than you think.

Holy crap! Brilliant video edit.

Three seconds? Yikes. Will be interesting to see how this impacts big money PPC spenders...

By definition it won't affect PPC spenders at all unless someone clicks on the ad. You can only buy CPM ads on the AdSense network.

It has the potential to drastically alter search, which thus would drastically alter PPC. The likeliest negative outcome is the gradual disappearance of any traffic driven from long-tail search keywords.

It won't affect PPC (pay per click) spenders. It will only matter in terms of CPM (cost per impression).
