Business travel might be an exception. Especially for companies who have to manage travel for their employees, and business travelers who want utility features that increase their productivity. Some ideas:
- Incentivize employees who share rides from/to hotel/airport traveling on same dates/destinations
- Show dates for destination that maximizes networking opportunities (in between conferences)
- Show locations with wifi in-between meetings
- Locations with ambiance ideal for business discussions
- Expense capture to identify opportunities for deals (employees love Starbucks during business trips, sign up for corporate deals)
Hi guys, Chris here, Developer Evangelist at Concur. I just got word from the TripIt team that they are aware of the issue and working to get it fixed. Feel free to email me at chris.ismael@concur.com if you have questions. Thanks!
Unfortunately, it's not ready yet - we're still working on it.
If you'd like to be notified when it's ready, just leave us your email at http://casperbox.com/pre-registration.
Runscope is a bit different in that it focuses more on API Testing, APItools focused on monitoring the live traffic to the APIs and controlling it with programmable middleware.
There's a bit overlap but it's definitely worth checking out both!
For clarity, we (I'm the CEO of Runscope) offer two products: Runscope Traffic Inspector for logging/monitoring traffic to any API and Runscope Radar for ongoing automated testing. I don't mean to hijack the thread, just want people to know we do a bit more than just testing. Congrats on the launch!
Yes. Also returning cached responses if you want. It is full blown programming language inside. Parse XML? Yes. Transform JSON? Yes :) Implement OAuth? If you dare :)
We're similar to Concur, but simpler! We don't have 'expense reports' — each expense is submitted on its own, and we bake reimbursements right in — you get paid out right to your bank account as soon as your expense is approved. Concur is targeted at 5,000 employee+ companies, our sweet spot is 5-100 employee companies.
If you have something exciting to talk about, public speaking is not such a chore (a joy in fact). The challenge is having content that's easy to make exciting.
If that's not possible for you, then try to get excited of the fact that you're out there to excite the hell out of something mundane. Surprise your audience.
Being in that state of mind alone should knock out the jitters.
One trick that helps me be productive is to expect that I won't finish an entire task in one sitting. I used to have this problem of procrastinating because I want to finish a task in one go. Now it's easier to break up work into chunks and work on them separately, knowing that eventually they'll all be finished (not working up myself too much in expecting I can finish them all).
I also found this book "Your Brain at Work" really helpful, especially in the chapter about what gets us motivated (a bit of anxiety coupled with novelty helps).
