Yes. I want AI in some things (some)

You might want to review the influence of William the conqueror on the English language.

You mean, Guillaume le Conquérant ?

snortèd

How fitting for that bastard to be the one who bastardized our language!!

How can I get early access to this "Human" model on the benchmarks? /s

13/s is not slow. Q4 is not bad. The models that run on phones are never 30B or anywhere close to that.

It is very slow and totally unimpressive. 5060Ti ($430 new) would do over 60, even more in batched mode. 4x RPi 5 are $550 new.

So clearly we need to get this guy hooked up with Jeff Geerling so we can have 4x RPi5s with a 5060 Ti each...

Yes, I'm joking.

Do those of us not cool enough to know already get to find out what 996 means?

9 AM to 9 PM 6 days a week. It's a "how long do we work" shorthand, like 955 (9 AM to 5 PM 5 days a week) or 864 (8 AM to 6 PM 4 days a week).

It's the first hyperlink in the article, and the first Google result for "996".

"Work nine to nine, six days a week"

She was long forgotten. Her notoriety is actually a recent phenomenon.

Yep. She didn't reappear in history until the 1950s when Babbage's papers were reviewed with the increased development of computing as a field of study (and really took off in the 80s when US DOD sponsored the development of the Ada programming language).

Reminds me of the incorrect "A whole nother"

That's a quaint way of saying "another"—not appropriate for formal use—but not quite incorrect either.

Unfortunately the GPL license makes it dead in the water for using something like this at work

:(

Why? You can use it, only if you want to extend the tool as part of your (paid) work, you are meant to contribute the code changes back.

But none of it should prevent someone from just using it (GPL does not mean any usage data is being made "public").

what are the licenses allowed for your company? would love to learn more.

Notes is a writing tool that approachable and easy to use. It also works across the ecosystem on a syncing platform I already pay for and whose privacy I am comfortable with. I like the idea of setting up a simple text based website without needing to adopt a new editor. That's plenty value prop to me.

Correct, the examples here are not real. They are examples.
