While your link is helpful, he did not say that. He specifically mentions changing the admissions standards. Specifically having different standards for different social classes.

I have second handedly seen the effects of such discrimination in other societies and it really is crippling to the economy. Be wary of any kind of discrimination specifically one that lowers expected grades.

> Now they have lower standards for applicants from poor families or bad schools. As a result Oxford and Cambridge have sunk to fourth place in the latest Times Good Universities Guide.

He did say exactly that.

Your link bolsters the point of the person you are responding to. The lowering of standards is the relevant portion. It would be relevant if they lowered standards for any group, just happened they lowered them for poor families.

He also provided no numbers or evidence - did his children fail to get in or something?

Yes, eldest was rejected

Found this amazing hackathon project by X @blendrskool. There is a 3D skeuomorphic radio on the screen with dials, knobs, buttons all usable from the web portal. Github link: https://github.com/blenderskool/radiai

Good idea. Would be great starting point if I could just click on the examples and prefill the data with that use case.

This is really cool! I am building a p2p social games platform and this will be super useful as a base. Would love to connect if you are interested in seeing a prototype.

Ooh, 2160p video.

Spoke with someone on the Yellowstone team a few weeks ago. They mentioned most wolves lose life to ranchers. Avg wolf life in Yellowstone is just 3 years!

A TV-TV video calling system (raspberry PI + off shelf camera and mic). Idea is have a more immersive experience where you can talk to entire family instead of just a persons face (or parts of face in the hands of my parents or kid). Next stage is to add games to the calls. Have some games already prototyped with good feedback from kids.

Still thinking of how, what and when to open source.

Wow, this is pretty legendary work: https://iss.matteason.co.uk/

This is great. Always wanted something exactly like this for teaching or learning History and Geology. For some reason I had a real struggle with history in books format.
