This cat is so high quality that it changes my reaction of the situation from empathetic and concerned to optimistic and impressed. I think there is nothing heartbreaking about your situation if you're dropping cats of this caliber to anonymous door notes.

Couldn't agree more with you. It's been pretty eye opening to me just how toxic the general dude-bro workaholic culture in Silicon Valley / tech is. There is just astounding levels of lack of empathy amongst so many commenters here.

So glad I never moved to the West coast when I had the chance. Instead I get to live in a nice spacious house with a half-acre lot, a fenced in yard to enjoy with my kids and dog, and work at a great small-business/startup in ML with great colleagues, excellent work-life balance, and the main company motto being - Don't hire assholes, and don't work for assholes. It's been working fantastic for several years now!

I am a recent empty nester. I don't like it much.

I interviewed with them for an engineer position back in 2018. My overall impression was actually quite good. The interviewers I met all seem very smart and experienced (a few with 20+ YOE at bigCo). I was quite bumped that I didn’t get an offer, but it turned out to be a blessing I guess.

Maybe it also shows that just having smart people isn’t enough for a company/product to succeed.

Apple forced some of the companies that rely on Apple’s platform iOS or MacOS to implement this feature, how is that not anti-trust?

Because A) this is good for consumers, and B) Apple doesn't have the market position to force consumers or other vendors to do anything. There is plenty of choice and competition in the smartphone market.

Not true. If you use any other social media signing, you must also support Sign In With Apple. You can, however, continue to use good old email alone.

Developers have to implement it, But users don’t have to use it.
