This should read "NYTimes Announces Easy Way to Get Written About in NYTimes".

I have been on his side and this sentence is absolutely excessive. However, Weev didn't seem to be able to draw a line on when to stop trolling in real life, and that is probably why they sentenced him to 41 months. He may have got less time if he wasn't chiding the government/case for the entire duration of the trial.

Wouldn't it be ironic that this post is from "The Starter League"? They are the quintessential example of "selling to the miners" - charging $8,000 to learn web development. Why would they post this?

As an engineer, this makes me have less desire to be with Yahoo. This move is like something a parent would do to a group of kids they couldn't trust to do their job without supervision. How about they just bring in, or fire the bad remote employees? Why risk punishing quiet, smart guys (who might be slightly introverted) who serve important purposes? Our company has remote employees, and most of them are brilliant.

Well done.

They are probably doing this right now, don't you think.

I wouldn't be surprised at all, but we wanted to take our own stab at it to see how people might respond to it.

Unless there is a bug bounty-type program in place, I wouldn't expect an email back. You're wasting your time. I've had the same results as you in the past. I don't even report them anymore.

Slightly off-topic, but check out this great email from PayPal today.

Hi JungleCats,

Thank you for your participation in the PayPal Bug Bounty program.

While we continue to review each vulnerability we receive on a case-by-case basis, we have determined that this bug is not eligible for payment based on the fact the website is in the process of being decommissioned and will be shut down in the near future.

Thank you, PayPal Security Team
