Just a heads up, you can have dark mode on every website on iOS Safari with Dark Reader: https://darkreader.org/

I use Dark Reader on Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, but I've found Noir to be better on Safari.

Does summer holidays only apply to Europeans? I think most Americans are still largely in office for August

People take much more time off during the summer in the USA than during other times of year. It’s somewhat regional, but it’s been true in all the place I have lived. Probably July is the most common month though because in some regions schools start sometime in August. It’s not uncommon for people to take 1-2w off during that period. More than 2w often requires extra approvals, so is less common.

Exactly. Say on average people take 2 weeks / 16 week off in that period, thats 12% traffic right there.

And smarter people than me can probably find some extra-linear relationship between usage and required limits for uptime etc.

I think Ortho-K is meant for kids as a preventative solution. It would be too late for us adults.

I also have never actually met someone who has used it.

I got Ortho-K lenses last year, and I'm over the age of 40. Seeing all day long without contacts or glasses is incredible. They're actually better for dry eyes than dailies, as you wear them for less hours

Is this good for Kagi?

Does Kagi have a free developer api?

Not free, 2.5c per search:

https://help.kagi.com/kagi/api/search.html

Their API doesn't provide the mixed Kagi metasearch results though. Only results from their smallweb Teclis index, Curlie, and I think Marginalia results are included. Probably also other sources I'm not aware of.

Marginalia has a free-ish API for non-commercial purposes if you go direct:

Kind of, but not really, the ublock origin app doesn't work on Orion. I tried both Kagi + uBlock versus Brave and their built-in ad-block and Brave had a much better performance.

True, none of the extensions I tried actually worked as intended.

Fwiw Orion uses the actual extensions, not the uBO Lite app (for Safari) that I think you're referring to.

Putin can and has bought soldiers (Wagner Group and North Koreans).

And apparently Indians. Unfortunately the worldwide supply of poor and desperate young men is virtually infinite so Russia will be able to recruit more mercenaries as long as they have cash from fossil fuel exports.

For those out of the loop, can you please explain your comment?

Netflix uses FFMPEG, will have to update

Have to? They don't have a kill switch in there, probably.

Yup, abandoned 5 years ago judging by the Github page.

Cool tool! Are you guys releasing Hyprnote for Windows this month?

probably end of this month or early next month. not 100% sure.

I tried it with a Russian YT video and it did not work:

Starting process... Processing URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtkgT6R2HtA Error: Failed to get transcript: Could not retrieve a transcript for the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtkgT6R2HtA! This is most likely caused by:

No transcripts were found for any of the requested language codes: ['en']

For this video (MtkgT6R2HtA) transcripts are available in the following languages:

(MANUALLY CREATED) None

(GENERATED) - ru ("Russian (auto-generated)")[TRANSLATABLE]

(TRANSLATION LANGUAGES) - en ("English")

If you are sure that the described cause is not responsible for this error and that a transcript should be retrievable, please create an issue at https://github.com/jdepoix/youtube-transcript-api/issues. Please add which version of youtube_transcript_api you are using and provide the information needed to replicate the error. Also make sure that there are no open issues which already describe your problem! --- End of summary ---

Hey just to follow up youtube videos like the above will now work. I tested with that video and few others. Let me know if you have any other issues and thanks for the great feedback on the project!

That's great feedback, I'm working on a fix now
