Don't

That's strange, the form factor is the worst part for me.

There is no comfortable position to use an iPad in. In bed you're craning your head over, or propping it on your raised thighs. The keyboard cases are flimsy or super heavy.

I love the user interface on the iPad, it looks the best of iPhone, iPad, and Mac. But a MacBook is so much more ergonomic than an iPad.. :(

This is true. One place where the iPad’s form factor beats a laptop’s is the kitchen counter. It takes up less space but still gives a decently sized screen. Another is when reading PDFs in vertical orientation. It is very close to the experience of reading a printed sheet of paper.

You can create custom site blocking rules within Content Blocker apps, such as 1Blocker.

I use this to block Twitter, Facebook, etc.

AirTag

Doesn’t work as it notifies the person traveling with it.

Of you hide it well enough? I can think of some creative spots in a car, like behind the dash, in the door, inside of the a seat, etc.

If the thief has an iPhone, they will see this: https://sm.mashable.com/mashable_pk/image/default/uploads252...

It's quite easy to clobber the speaker

It still alerts (UI Prompt) on any iPhone that it travels with for too long (~24hr).

I thought it only chirped if the owner clicked that option in "Find My" app.

Its not that it is chirps it is that any iPhone beeing tracked by a airtag for a extended amount of time will inform its owner that it is being tracked.

What if I don't have an iPhone

Apple Support cannot do anything if you forget the device passcode, there is no back door. Best advice I can think of is, is ask her to restore an iCloud backup, after erasing the phone.

Link? The eTag of an object is still the MD5 AFAIK.

For the ETag, yes and no that it's an MD5 of the object depending on encryption and multipart upload: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/API/RESTCommonRe...

For the object upload, AWSv4 request signature uses SHA256 on the payload/object, but I don't know if S3 also computes & compares the digest or just uses the x-amz-content-sha256 header value.

AWS support via Twitter said that the SHA256 digest of the payload is calculated and compared for S3 when using AWSv4 signature requests.

Yes, S3 uses the content-md5 header to verify data integrity for puts.

https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/API/API_PutObjec...

The request signature (assuming version 4) is SHA256, the object eTag is MD5.
