I got one at 9:31pm Eastern Time last night (Jan 4, 2022):
here's what it said:
We wanted to make you aware that we are currently investigating a security incident, and that our investigation is ongoing. We will provide you updates about this incident, and our response, as they become available. At this point, we are confident that there are no unauthorized actors active in our systems; however, out of an abundance of caution, we want to ensure that all customers take certain preventative measures to protect your data as well.
Action request:
Out of an abundance of caution, we strongly recommend that all customers take the following actions:
- Immediately rotate any and all secrets stored in CircleCI. These may be stored in project environment variables or in contexts.
- We also recommend customers review internal logs for their systems for any unauthorized access starting from December 21, 2022 through today, January 4, 2023, or upon completion of your secrets rotation.
Additionally, if your project uses Project API tokens, we have invalidated those and you will need to replace them. You can find more information on how to do that in our documentation here.
We apologize for any disruption to your work. We take the security of our systems and our customers’ systems extremely seriously. While we are actively investigating this incident, we are committed to sharing more details with customers in the coming days.
Thank you for your urgent attention to rotating your secrets.
Fascinating. I think I might be one of those of the older generation. Do you have any pointers to get to start to learn more about the modern progressives? I'd really like to learn more.
I actually remember reading, recently, that the color division is cultural. Point in fact is that around 1900 and earlier, if color had any meaning at all, it was reversed. Pink, being close to red, was manly. Blue, being close to violet, was womanly.
That the roles are globally reversed now could very well be indicative of a newish cultural shift that has nothing to do with nature, genes or suchlike.
While trying to find the article I stumbled across Straight dope (http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/2831/was-pink-origi...), that claims that this idea might well be wrong. I does however, I think, speak out against the idea that pink-girly and blue-boyly is something known to be inherent.
Although I guess the thing I read earlier might well be wong, I'm still not that convinced that colors are that gender based by default.
Somewhat, perhaps, more cumbersome, but very workable, is to hire yourself a personal shopper for a day. Those are available at all major cities.
That person will guide you throughout the day while you go out and buy the stuff society at large would like to see you wear. End the day with a visit to a, from them, suggested barber and you're set.
This is probably closer to what I'm looking for, though ideally I'd be able to avoid the actual "going shopping with them" part. However, until my ideal service exists, I'll probably hire a personal shopper if I lack a girlfriend.
Also, there is sometimes a principal-agent problem; many personal shoppers work for the stores, and simply buy for you whatever the store is trying to get rid of.
