Going off the believable citations in the wiki page here, it seems more complicated than "who solved it", as there's a mathematician, Anthropic, and OpenAI having a priority dispute.
I’m well aware of the dispute, and OpenAI’s conduct has definitely been less than respectable.
But when the central claim of the argument (that OpenAI and the researchers solved the same problem) is completely false, it’s hard to take the article seriously.
I think I agree if you don't have someone dedicated to running and maintaining Jenkins. If you have someone at your org that knows what they are doing though, I'd still take Jenkins over GHA any day.
That's significantly more difficult to set up and it cost money. Github's big issues that it's free, Microsoft doesn't want to allocate enough budget to keep the thing running properly.
But for people who either don't pay anything at all or phenomenal amount one 9 of up time is all you need.
If you're actually trying to run a business I guess you can call and gitlab and get an Enterprise contract
The official YCombinator stance is that Flock was a huge success as an investment - which it seemingly was, given that they managed to sign deals with what seems like every tiny municipality/sheriff/government organization.
Because for police departments, they are a huge benefit and well worth the cost. A lot of crimes have been solved with Flock cameras. Stolen cars, or cars linked to criminal activity have been tracked and located. Missing persons have been found.
None of that justifies the massive invasion of privacy that these cameras represent. You don't have a right to not be individually surveiled in public, but that doesn't mean it's OK for the government to warrantlessly track everyone everywhere they go 24x7, or to do it by proxy with a private company such as Flock. The potential for abuse is just too high, and we've seen many cases of that too.
The 2nd number immediately means something to me. While I have to consider the first. From my perspective it isn’t easier to comprehend.

Years ago, EVE corps swapped Unicode lookalike characters in patterned ways, inserted patterned zero width space characters, and put very slightly color shifted background watermarks into forum posts to detect leaks.
There are a few different things here. The actual steganography technique by Claude Code here is fairly smart and subtle; it's appropriate for a binary signal. The less-clever part is the implementation of the underhanded code on the client.
For "MMO geopolitics fingerprinting", you can in theory do the entire thing mostly or entirely from the server, with the client not actually ever receiving any underhanded code per se. Such as sending dynamic stylesheets that vary in a pretty plausibly deniable way that can be secretly extracted from screenshots. Same for the character swap stuff. A very good analyst could still potentially detect it, but it's much harder.
With this, there's the smoking gun of the semi-deobfuscated underhanded code in the client. It will always have to exist in some form, but you can write it in a way where it not just looks like regular code but actually has a believable purpose and behavior which could plausibly be normal and benign for implementation of a feature or telemetry or whatever. They did not really do it in a sufficiently "cleverly psyop-y" way, so to speak.
The marketing works for you. This is the precise reason, they name it like this.
The IoT means it is for people who can't afford having the OS vendor make the OS do things against their will. Which should be everyone, but sadly isn't.
Whilst true, the IoT naming is a bit misleading. It's not just designed for IoT devices/purposes. It can run pretty well as a normal operating system, not much is different. (Think Payment Systems, Library Computers, etc).
I think Microsoft just wanted to be in on the "Internet of Things" hype train. The Windows IoT Core is the cut back version of Windows designed explicitly for headless, IoT stuff.
Terrible, almost consultant-level advice - particularly on a thread about how the actual Windows 10 release is getting extended support until 2027. The IoT release is missing a ton of installed things, such as Microsoft Store Login (needed for Microsoft apps). If you want security updates, stay on your existing OS instead of using one designed for a totally different purpose, and Microsoft will continue to push out the date...
Xbox/Microsoft Store Auth is used for a ton of logins, not just games. Similarly, you can be dismissive of Edge (another thing not included), but the Microsoft Webview Framework is Edge-based (https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview...) and will break a variety of useful applications if it's not available.
Be derisive as you want, but your advice is awful. The IoT enterprise release is for IoT use cases. The types of things people do on consumer OSes are not fully supported.
Using Windows Server 2025 (it has an evaluation version), I encountered a few problems (Xbox Controller needing to dig out de Windows 7-era drivers, Meta Quest audio not working, using pnputil to import missing drivers from a normal Win11 install) but otherwise it's been quite smooth sailing.
Not having Store login sounds bad, but it also means the system cannot trick you into linking your account to a Microsoft account, which is a plus (though accidental login is reversible IIRC). (I am not sure if Minecraft, which is the only game I know to require such login, actually worked or not).
Using not-for-purpose OS for gaming does lead to some hiccups, but to me those hiccups are preferable to the constant fight against your OS trying to shove things down your throat or disregarding your choices (of not wanting copilot, of wanting a local account, of not wanting ad-like stuff in the OS).
(Fedora would be easier to setup at that point, but anticheats...)
I also tried the IoT LTSC evaluation which generally worked better (basically, it has all the drivers the Server version is missing, plus QoL features like Win+V are enabled by default) but buying legitimate keys was not possible as a regular consumer.
Good luck. Had a friend do a startup that was using similar algos to how Google Maps detect roads in satellite imagery to detect cancer in tissues. Actually worked pretty well - ended up dying in the super long FDA approval phase.
The images and description of the launch seem like they are behind where my buddy was 10+ years ago - so I expect a pretty difficult road ahead, between getting to where it's actually medically viable, and then stomaching the FDA process.
