It seems like it will work just fine:

> For those of you who love to tinker, we’ve also created the Framework Laptop DIY Edition, the only high-end notebook available as a kit of modules that you can customize and assemble yourself, with the ability to choose Windows or install your preferred Linux distribution.

The modularity of a Framework Laptop promises a lot of good. I know there are some workplaces where having wifi working is not permitted. Is this modular enough to have a wired networking plug and not have a wireless wifi ?

Thanks for your info

I'm seeing this too, I can't even load the Cloudflare website.

You don't have much of a choice outside of what your rental criteria is and if you take section 8 due to fair housing laws.

I've been wanting to do this for a while. Do you mind sharing how you connect cell phones to your network?

You can turn down the polling rate of the mouse using the software.

Then the sensitivity goes down and you gotta compensate by increasing the sensitivity elsewhere. Can never get it quite right.

Does it really? It shouldn't but it could be flawed.

I imagine the poster is probably thinking of DPI rather than polling rate - two different things.

> If you read up on the program it's more geared towards allowing customers to fix their own issues, and less of "lets go back to reliance on independent repair stores".

Where do you see this? The requirements of the program directly contradict what you're saying as you need to be a registered business, have an address in a commercially zoned area, and have an apple repair certification.

In other news, water is wet.

Please don't post unsubstantive comments to Hacker News.

debatable

Good point. Water is not wet in its frozen state. One could easily make the argument that the majority of water in the universe is not wet.

Except for it is called ice.

Ice is frozen water. Steam is gaseous water. Water is liquid water. They're all water. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water#States

You are right water being wet is debatable

Depends on the temperature and pressure of the water I suppose.

And more importantly, are things that exist primarily in water wet? https://youtu.be/TPDdRrMVEnA

Anything ever existed is debatable.

That's debatable.

> 84% of apps are free, and developers pay nothing to Apple.

Wait, what? I thought you had to pay 100$ a year for the privilege to publish anything on the app store, even if it's free.

If Mozilla won't sign it, you have to install it manually. [0]

[0]: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/Dis...

Firefox requires that extension files be signed by Mozilla if you want to install a .xpi file from a website. They don't have to be given a spotlight, but this effectively makes it impossible for anyone who doesn't know how to manually compile and install the extension to even use it.

No compilation necessary. You just download the addon source, flip on the "debug plugins" option, and point it at the manifest file.

Still a pain in the ass.

Mozilla continues to offer Dissenter the ability to sign their add-on and distribute it themselves. Look at the takedown notice, where they recommend this approach.
