I did something similar on my site with a list of terms.

http://researchtrep.com/research/trep-terms/

Saddam Hussein had one built for his grandkids near his palaces in Baghdad.

One thing that has really helped me is a mastermind. While I know the mastermind is for entrepreneurs, is there something similar for coders?

Also, check out local groups like cocodevs or meetups.

I typically outsource through oDesk, It was very hard the first time but each time gets easier. The hard part is keeping decent developers. Even the good ones, you become a side project after the first one, despite increased budgets. Typically, they don't turn down work and you suffer instead of them telling you to wait a month and risk losing you. I have had a simple crappy app made for $75 all they way up to a few grand. Typical release ready non-game app can be had around $750. Games apps can be all over the place as far as development costs.

Please let me know what you think. This is something I've done personally and now I am sharing it. This is my MVP to see if I should go further.

Interesting read as I hire mainly through oDesk, hopping to be able to hire full-time developers some day.

It can be tough, I'm in a technical/educational environment yet I cannot find anyone interested. Has anyone had luck with meetups or something similar?

Any email where I can connect with you?

I have been working on my writing and would appreciate some feedback, Thanks.

Thanks for the response. I have created a few low quality android apps and make about $30-40 a month. It is a hobby, hopefully something more in the future.

I'm just amazed at how freely the term 'startup' is used to label anything and everything.

You can email me if you want an invite.
