I would consider it. I have to put that in now since I tried to work with someone in New Zealand and they were working when I was sleeping :) . Can't do that again.

That's hilarious :D but understandable. I personally and a couple of other devs I know have been syncing up with EST and PST times for the past 6-7 years.

Could I contact you via email to discuss this and shed a bit about my background? I'd apply directly but I keep getting automatic rejections due to my location and it's a bit boring/draining.

Unfortunately this resonates all too well for me.

Currently working in the college space, trying to monetize at the discovery phase. Extremely disappointing to see millions of users interacting with your site and struggling to break even. All this while your competitors spend a tenth of the time making 10x the revenue at the decision phase.

In a startup now that is using Go. It has worked out extremely well so far. Some of the pieces like unused imports are errors, and checking for error return values in the end help to keep things clean. Performance is definitely impressive.

This is a good point. Having been in both positions, a startup that has taken on lots of funding, and going the DIY route, the DIY route has been much more effective.

The business model would need to support it though. The business model taking on lots of cash needed a community to be effective and would have been extremely difficult to achieve without those resources. Being able to self fund and find paying customers early is not always an option.
