Raspberry camera has small issue - it's sensor (along with lens housing) is not soldered directly on PCB instead it's glued with double sided adhesive tape. So by adding by introducing PCB mounted lens assembly you will probably end up with half focused, half blurry picture because sensor will not be parallel to lens.

Mikeha, glad to see attention from my favorite 3D scanning company. Results you shared are awesome!

I do admit that my system lacks precision, angular resolution, and lot's of other nice bells and whistles. But hey it was build over weekend including software. Also this is more like rotary stage demonstration rather full featured 3D scanner.

Well, Leadshine is mostly acceptable (but not Chinese fake!).

Please sum all components (custom PCB, Trinamic controllers, arduino, connectors, enclosure, shipping components, assembling,...) add some taxes and you will get almost the same price.

Good camera candidate to build FAST thermal panorama rig!

Can be done, just highly directional antennas are bulky and setup needs to be much bigger.

Experience comes with practice :)

Stress test! Seems like my web page needs some optimizations :)

MLX90640 would be nice, but only for speed improvements. I would like to add additional lenses to improve resolution, but they are not cheap.

Awesome project! Have to pimp it :)
