No, but `request` does not implement modern JS features such as promises and async/await which generally have become commonplace. So what this announcement means is that such features won't ever be added, and that people should look to another library for HTTP requests in "modern JS".
Since they don't use TOTP it's not possible to use their two-factor authentication with applications such as Google Authenticator or Authy. What's more, I don't think it even works with third-party Twitter clients (Correct me if I'm wrong), so you have to use Twitter's own apps.
It does indeed work with third-party apps using Google-style "app specific passwords". But I didn't know that it didn't support TOTP since I only use SMS authentication. I can see that as being a lame move, though.
A lot of the complaints are about the fact that the Sparrow team had promised push notifications for the iOS client "with or without Apple". Now we get nothing.
I know, I know, don't buy an application based on promises, buy it based on what the application currently offers. Wise words, I have learned.
When I asked on IRC I was told that the new icon is permanent. It's really nice in my opinion, but I do find it a somewhat odd choice for a text editor.
I am happy to see that F.lux for Mac is still being developed, and the new settings look great, but please allow me to request that the menu bar icon will be changed back to a monochrome one, or at least has a setting for it the same way Dropbox for Mac has.
Thanks for your work. I hope you'll consider my request.
Upvoted. I've been using Flux for several months. I absolutely love it. I am very familiar with the 'turn it off at night and feel your eyes start to burn' effect. But, for the love of god, PLEASE DO NOT clutter up the menubar with an attention-grabbing icon (i.e. one with color).
In addition to restoring a monochrome option, you should also allow users to turn off the menubar icon entirely, and simply rely on the System Preference pane for access on the (very rare) occasions when it's needed.
Just updated - love the slider. 3800k turns out to be the perfect temperature for the room I'm in, so right in-between the old presets for tungsten and fluorescent.
Having the ability to fine tune it like this is really nice.
