Quite some game UI's are done in Flash (check out ScaleForm by Autodesk: http://gameware.autodesk.com/scaleform) so using JavaScript seems plausible as well.

Some older games had the menus fully rendered in openGL. I'm not sure which is better, but I would think our society has more domain experience making menus with flash than with openGL.

exactly, the tooling and skillset for interface design/dev is extremely mature these days, and it probably isn't economical to move people onto custom solutions.

Get away from your desk every once in a while instead of exercising behind your desk. It clears your head and makes you focus better afterwards.

Why "instead" and not "as well"?

I feel you would get less work done running or walking on one of these, and you would also not get much exercise value out of it.

It would be better to take breaks often, and every other day take a 1 hour break to do a proper set of exercises in a gym, playing a sport or just running or biking outside.

There was a study I remember seeing referenced a while ago (I think it was in an article about the Mayo clinic guy Levine) where the big point was that if you spent essentially most of your workday sitting, then an hour at the gym doesn't undo that. With this approach I can walk 3 - 6 miles while working. I'm not trying to get my heart rate up to cardio levels obviously; I'm just walking. And I'm not saying I'm a role model for perfect health, etc...

Compared to all the others, I really like this execution of the simple, eye friendly design and the color coding. Well done! A small source url after the headline like reddit and HN do, would be a welcome addition imo.

Would a small source url still have benefit when there are thousands of unique domains possible? I think it would be ignored by most people.

For me, this is the best feature. I've been using Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator and Omnigraffle for ages and none of them have an easy way of finding that one element hidden under 10 other layers. This looks like a great solution.
