I my country you have to regularly check in with the bureau for unemployment to be included in the stats, even though that bureau hadn’t found a job for anyone ever.
I assume that’s how it works in many other countries.
Unemployed is the one actively looking for a job, not the one that’s just to working. At least that’s how governments seem to look at it, and their way of figuring out who’s looking is incorrect.
So EU/Eurostat has surveys, Serbia does too (I’m from Serbia).
However most countries have also national way of determining the rate that works how I described, and they may differ quite a lot from Eurostat.
I guess EU introduced surveys with Eurostat so countries don’t juke the stats.
For example
- Denmark computes net unemployment straight from benefit and PES registers — administrative coverage is complete enough to do it without asking anyone. It still runs an LFS for the ILO figure.
- Germany, Austria, Poland, Czechia, Spain publish monthly registered counts that dominate domestic debate, exactly the way NSZ figures circulate in Serbia. Each uses its own national definition, so none is comparable across borders.
- Finland keeps a register series noticeably above its LFS count, similar in shape to the NSZ/ARS gap.

Ridiculous take. Defense is not a massacre. They are almost all fighting age men, and they outnumber the fighting age men of Ceuta. They've caused enourmous damage to Ceuta. All of this could have been prevented if there were men with guns guarding those walls.
During Franco, Ceuta was guarded by a 1 meter tall fence made of barbed wire. No one dared to cross it because they knew what would happen if they invaded.
That fear is fed with dog whistles like "fighting age men" and ample misinformation.
Ceuta is guarded by a 10 meter tall fence equipped with thermal cameras and noise detectors. This people didn't jump that fence, just swam around its end into the sea.
Ceuta is garrisoned by elite units of the Spanish Army, on top of border patrol and police. We have plenty of guns there, but choose not to use them on misled teenagers in swimming trunks and flipflops.
No lasting damage has been reported in Ceuta. This has been less violent than sport event celebrations.
Consider stepping out of the information bubble that weaponizes you as a supporter of mass killing.
Those are unarmed but aggressive foreigners. There are way to stop them entering your country in mass in a few hours without committing a massacre.
Western Europe has no problem using crowd control methods against their own people when they are protesting for good reasons (remember the gilets jaunes?).
But states like Spain are totally incompetent and corrupt. They won't hurt a few foreigners literally invading their country for the optics and do not care their own citizen get hurt as consequence.
In 2014 there was an attempt to swim over in the same exact place by just 300 people. Spanish police used rubber bullets to repel them and 14 died in the water.
More than 60 have died this time, even unoppossed.
Deaths could have been easily in the hundreds or thousands in the case of a similar heavy handed response, but our corrupt and incompetent forces have succesfully controlled and defused the situation in a peaceful and humane way within 24h.

Well its a russian company, and took part in the solarwinds hack, that was directly funded by the fsb. So, yeah, it should ve scrutinized, nitpicked and avoided at all costs.
Its 2026, there is no need for a proprieraty IDE that is stuck in the early 2000s.
JetBrains is and has always been a Czech (and, thus, EU) company, not a Russian one. Yes, the founders are Russian, but that does not make the company so. They did have Russian offices, but closed them after the start of the Ukraine war [1].
The only confirmed link to the SolarWinds attack seems to be that SolarWinds was using TeamCity (JetBrains' CI/CD product) and that this was alledgedly used as a "gateway" to SolarWinds' systems - which doesn't require any cooperation from JetBrains, just an unpatched security issue. In fact, a patch by JetBrains for the exploited issue seems to have been available, but was not installed [2].
So while any company deserves scrutiny, these particular allegations against JetBrains smell like FUD to me.
The company was registered in Prague for political and financial reasons, but it has always been Russian to the core. Yes, they had multiple offices outside of Russia, but they were still mostly populated by relocated Russians. That's why their product quality significantly dropped since 2022, as they've cut themselves from their main source of engineers.
Still has room for improvements, like finally getting their own incremental compiler instead of reusing the one from Eclipse, and better defaults for type inference tooltips and inspections.
Only last year finally got to support JNI development with mixed language debugging, which Eclipse and Netbeans have supported for the last 20 years.
